Most days my engineering team is a fleet of AI agents. I built the memory system they run on and the working discipline that keeps them honest — an agent forgets everything when its session ends, so the memory does the remembering and the process does the checking. My job looks less like writing code and more like designing the system that writes it, then verifying what comes out.

I test what I ship harder than anyone who works for me, and I keep the unflattering results — Keep a Value, a published standard for stating what a piece of shipped work changed, came out of that habit. The rule underneath it is simple: a claim about shipped work should survive checking by someone who wasn’t in the room.

The problems I love sit where product, engineering, and design meet strategy — and where people and machines have to learn to talk to each other. I care about systems that can prove they work, and documents that are useful to a stranger. On the side I build things for the people around me — like Milo, an AI assistant for my family. I try to be kind and I don’t sugarcoat; the two work better together than most people think. The long game is simple: innovate how work works, for millions of real people — and build things my family will be proud of.
